Captain Flint (parrot) Character Analysis

Long John Silver named his pet parrot after the notorious pirate captain. Silver seems genuinely fond of the creature, who, according to him, has traveled all around the world with the pirates. In the book, the parrot also serves as a means of alerting Jim and his friends to the presence of Silver, as he constantly squawks, “Pieces of eight!” and other pirate phrases.

Of Silver we have heard no more. It is to be hoped so, I suppose, for his chances of comfort in another world are very small.
