Rob Debree is a detective at the local county's sheriff's department and the chief investigator on Matthew Shepard's murder case. It is Rob who solicits Aaron McKinney's confession, building an airtight case that ensures that Russell Henderson and Aaron are brought to justice. Rob Debree, who connects with LGBT people for the first time through this case, becomes an advocate of LGBT rights over the course of the play.
