Rodney is Keisha’s first serious boyfriend. Marcia encourages her to see him because he reads a lot and goes to the same church. Although Keisha really likes Rodney at first and even attends the same university as him, she leaves him soon after she first sees Frank, who represents the kinds of upper-class lifestyle Keisha has always wanted.
