Tiverzin Character Analysis in Doctor Zhivago

Tiverzin is a railroad engineer, labor activist, and Bolshevik revolutionary. Together with Pavel Antipov, Tiverzin helps coordinate the 1905 strike that grows into the Moscow uprising. Tiverzin is also father figure to both Pasha Antipov, whom he adopts after his father is arrested, and Yusupka Gimatzetdin. Tiverzin later recommends Pasha Antipov, now known as Strelnikov, to his position in the Red Army, before taking over the Yuriatin revolutionary tribunal alongside Pavel Antipov and instituting red terror in the city.
