Mademoiselle Fleury is a resident of the Meliuzeevo hospital, where she worked as the governess when the hospital was an aristocrat’s palace before the war. Mademoiselle unsubtly attempts to set up Yuri and Lara during the summer of 1917. Many years later, she is present at the moment of Yuri’s death, though she doesn’t realize it, as she is in Moscow hoping to procure papers to go back home to France.
