Cherryl Brooks Character Analysis

Cherryl is a store clerk who marries James Taggart after mistaking him for a man of integrity. Coming from a modest background, she hopes to build a better life and admires what she believes is success earned through merit. Over time, she sees James’s true nature and recognizes him as manipulative, cowardly, and vindictive. Her disillusionment deepens as she realizes the world around her rewards deceit. Unable to reconcile her values with the corruption she faces, she ultimately takes her own life.
